Hello all. I am currently doing exam prep for a couple of MCTS exams for SQL Server 2008. However, given the pending release of SQL Server 2012 (Denali) this year, and given the new Microsoft "expiration policy" (i.e. certs expire "sometime after the release of the next major version of the product"), I wonder if it's worth waiting for the SQL Server 2012 exam infrastructure (training materials, exams themselves, setup at testing facilities, etc.) to be ready/available.
I'm curious as to how long it takes for all that infrastructure I mentioned to "gear up" once the "new major version of the product" is officially released. If we're talking less than 6-9mos., I'm willing to wait for the new exams. If it will take longer, I may consider taking the 2008 exams now, and then take the necessary "upgrade" exam later. Anyone have any experience with how long this takes? Thanks & Regards.
