I have already ordered in Mike Meyers A+ certifcation book- 7th edition that also is suppose to touches on windows 7 from my understanding. I am asking for christmas for the Scott Mueller book as well as some have recommended that over the myers book due to meyers being kinda of a "dry read". Any other suggestions for study material?
To help with this I will say I am not totally green to PC hardware, or computers in general. I have been building and repairing computers for 11 yrs. I also do some early computer programming (VB, C/C++) and run multiple operating systems (windows XP, Windows 7, and usually a couple flavors of Linux) which varies on which I use depending on my mood or what I am trying to do. I have done Wireless auditing and maintance for hotels and colleges. My thoughts are to do A+ first, then probably Network+, then CCNA and work towards a help desk support job. Once a help desk support technician I want to find a suggested path towards database administation. |

It is very wise decision to take A+ certification first. You know A+ knowledge is a better step to take a higher level certification. If you have any lack in basic knowledge then A+ cert will cover it,if you gasp all the terms properly. Then you can easily go for CCNA or any other Net+ certs. This certification is regarded as the entry level cert and broaden your knowledge level. So good luck for your exam!
